Cookie Notice
Short version: this site uses the technical cookies it needs to load, plus the storage our notification provider needs if you opt in to push. No ad networks, no profiles sold on.
Technical cookies
Xantoluda uses strictly necessary, technical cookies, and even those are minimal. They may include a session or security token set by our host to serve pages safely, and a small preference stored in your browser so a menu or panel stays as you left it. These are essential to make the site work and cannot reasonably be switched off without breaking it, so under Canadian and Quebec privacy rules they do not require a consent banner.
Push notifications, if you opt in
The contact page offers browser notifications. To make that work we load the OneSignal software development kit on every page, and it registers a service worker file at the root of this site. The SDK itself is loaded on every page, but it does not identify you and no notification is ever sent unless you opt in twice: tick the consent box and submit the form, then accept the permission prompt your browser shows you.
Once you do opt in, OneSignal stores identifiers in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB, plus a first-party cookie in some browsers, so it can recognise your subscription and avoid sending you the same notification twice. It also records basic technical details such as browser, operating system, language and approximate region from your IP address. OneSignal is a service provider based in the United States and processes this data there on our behalf. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Declining or ignoring the browser prompt leaves the storage unused and nothing is sent.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies. There are no ads on this site.
- No third-party analytics suite tracking your journey around the site.
- No social media pixels.
- No selling, renting or trading of your data, and no cross-site advertising profiles.
Links to the app stores
When you tap a store button, you leave Xantoluda for Google Play or the App Store. Those services set their own cookies under their own policies once you arrive. We have no control over and no visibility into what they do. Review Google's and Apple's privacy policies for that side of things.
Managing this yourself
You can clear or block cookies and site data for any site, including this one, from your browser settings. Blocking the technical cookies here may stop parts of the page from behaving correctly.
To stop notifications, open your browser's site settings for xantoluda.com, find Notifications, and choose Block. That revokes the permission on the spot. Clearing this site's data also removes the identifiers OneSignal stored in your browser, and any update email we send carries an unsubscribe link.
